History Off the Page - Year 6

Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic launch to their World War II history topic, 'Blitz, Bangs and Bombs'. In the morning they had a 1940s classroom experience in role with our visitor 'Captain Hatfield'. They enjoyed writing with pen and ink, learning about money and finding out what happened to children that misbehaved! In the afternoon World War II shops were set up with real artefacts from the period. Using their rationing books the children handled money from the era and bought items from a shopping list whilst avoiding getting into trouble from the police officers! This was such an exciting start to our topic and it was so lovely to see the children dressed up - we hope that you enjoy looking at photos from the day together on the website.
