Early Years launched their new topic 'Food Glorious Food' with a special visitor.  Susie, from Tesco, came in and did food tasting with the children. It was wonderful to see the children trying new foods and exploring new tastes, textures and smells.  Thank you Susie for coming...

The whole school comes together for a traditional Carol Service at the end of term. The Christmas story is told through Bible readings, songs and a tableau which gradually builds up as the service goes on.

To land our topic 'Adventures of the Night' we had a pyjama party. The children brought in pyjamas and their toothbrush and toothpaste to get ready for our party.  We enjoyed playing party games, sipping hot chocolate and eating biscuits. 

Our infant children enjoyed visiting Czechia, Sweden, Ukraine, Germany, France and Finland where they learnt about Christmas traditions. Pupils in Year 6 from Katherine Semar School were visited by the WWI Aviation Heritage Trust this week. 

On Friday 11th November 2022, Leopard Class held a Remembrance Day Assembly.  All children placed their donations on a huge poppy, which will be given to the Royal British Legion.

On Monday the 7th November, the junior hall was transformed into a bustling Ancient Greek marketplace. The children became Greek citizens for the day and toiled tirelessly: carving, painting, sculpting, mosaic making and learning to be physicians.

Red Squirrels had a very exciting group of visitors on Monday! The children from Orangutans class came to read to the Red Squirrels at the end of the school day.

On Tuesday 8th November, after morning anxiously scanning the skies and the weather forecast, it was a relief that the afternoon proved to be warm and dry. An exciting day for Year 5 today as they were lucky to meet (virtually) the amazing author of our current class text, Maz Evans. Our children were extremely inspired by her comments and advice, especially the importance of planning and editing when writing.
