Year 2 Launch Great Fire of London Topic

For the launch of our Great Fire of London topic in Year 2 the children went on a treasure hunt around the school to gather facts about the great event and clues to find the treasure.

Once the children had found all the clues they had to unscramble the words which spelt ‘FIND SPADE’. Upon finding the spade we dug up three intriguing  parcels. A diary, a bottle of wine and some cheese. This lead to some interesting discussions on why these things would be buried and who buried them.

We then finished off the day by generating questions of things that we wanted to find out about the Great Fire of London.
