Year 5 Greek Day

The children tried their hand at a number of traditional crafts such as fresco painting, mosaic and carving.  They dedicated their work to Athena at the temple and then later on in the day they performed tragic and comic plays, as well as dancing.  Their teachers then provided a feast of 'wine', feta cheese, pitta bread, olives and grapes.  There was also a slave auction, the first marathon was run (well done Jed!) and citizens were able to take part in discussions about the recent invasion by the Persians.
